A Healthy Dose of Minerals

Hey everybody! You know how I talked about mineral make-up being better for your skin in my last blog?? Well, I figured that it might be a good idea to talk a little more in-depth about it and answer some frequently asked questions (or basically some questions that I had haha). For example: What's it made out of? Is it healthier/more natural than regular make-up? What are the pros and cons? And is it even worth the money?.....Well, today I'm going to cover all of those topics and hopefully familiarize you with mineral makeup. =)
Okay, let's get started. Question number one: What is mineral makeup?
Mineral Makeup is a form of makeup that is made from natural minerals (hence the name) and doesn't contain any yucky chemicals or preservatives. Chemicals can dry out your skin or even cause breakouts by making it oily. And yes, from what I've heard and from personal experience it is healthier for your skin. =)
Now moving on to question two: What are some pros and cons of mineral makeup?
Okay, the good stuff first =)...one pro is obviously that it is very good for your skin, but another one is
that if you have oily skin, it is perfectly safe for your face (won't add any unnecessary oils).
The only con that I can think of is just the fact that for some brands it is about $3 more than the non mineral stuff. But with all the advantages, it is totally worth it!
Okay, for the final question: There are so many different brands...what should I buy?
One of the top brands of mineral makeup is Bare Minerals. This is a nice brand because it is not heavy on your face (it practically feels like it isn't there) =). If you're really not up for
spending a lot of money to try this type of makeup out, there is a cheap alternative by the brand Ulta. Just explore a little on their website....you might find a different brand that you like better.
Good luck picking out mineral makeup and I hope this helped you get to know it a little bit more. If anyone has any other things to add, questions, or favorite brands for me to try :P be sure to post a comment below!! =) I love hearing your input!

Lots of love,
  Maddi <3
